Paths and Waterways: A series that began in lockdown in 2020. Strolls and wanders around the green spaces of Hackney, Walthamstow and the lower Lea Valley. Inspired by artists and writers who document walks and write about locality, place and psychogeography, including Iain Sinclair, Laura Grace Ford, Nick Waplington and Stephen Gill. I like using a square canvas and cropping to create interesting compositions that acknowledge photography as a key part of the process. Exaggerated colour palettes and brushstrokes attempt to replace what is lost in the reproduction.
